E Ink display is a black-and-white display which we also know as an e-paper display. These displays are rarely used in smartwatches. It is most commonly used in an eBook reader such as the Kindle book reader. This display consumes very little power and provides a very long battery life.

In an E-Ink display, the backlight is not used to show the interface, rather the pixels are replaced by many small balls called microcapsules. It is filled with fluid and also has two components of white and black color. This is a special type of ink that is given a charge which is in the form of + and -.

Now there are plates below it, in which very small electrodes are attached, as many pixels are present there, as many electrodes will be present. After this, whatever thing is shown on the display, whatever layer of the electrode is placed below it, will charge itself.

This will happen if you want to show black on the screen, then the layer that is below it will be signed and this black will move upwards, so that element will be shown on the display.
